What is Solar PV?
Generate cheap, green electricity from sunlight with solar photovoltaic panels in West Sussex.
Solar PV (solar photovoltaic) are cells that capture the suns energy. The cells convert the sunlight into electricity, which can be used to run household appliances and lighting.
PV cells don't need direct sunlight to work - you can still generate some electricity on a cloudy day.
With the Feed in tariff you can receive an income from feeding electricity back into the grid using solar PV, as well as using the energy generated for yourself. This could be anywhere between £800-£1800 for 25 years guaranteed by the government.
How does Solar PV work?
Solar PV panels generate power by using photovoltaic cells to capture the sun’s energy. The cells convert the sunlight into electricity which contributes to the electricity required to power the house in daylight hours. The solar Panels do not rely on direct sunlight to work – as long as there is daylight electricity will be generated. as it takes a surprisingly small amount of daylight to power solar panels, they will work anywhere in the UK, even on a cloudy day.
Solar PV Installer
Eco Innovations can install Solar PV Panels for your home or business and are based in Worthing, West Sussex. We have our very own remote Solar monitoring systems that monitor electricity generated by the solar panels we install making it very harder for other installers to compete with us. Solar Monitoring is essential when protecting your solar panels performance and alternately your investment. Visit our Virtual Eco Show Room for more information.
Solar PV Electricity
Convert the suns rays into electricity you can use in your home. Solar electricity generation is dependent on light intensity, not on heat or direct sunlight - so it works even on overcast days. Purchase Solar panels for your home or business from Eco Innovations today, Get a free quote.
Solar Feed in Tariff
Feed-In Tariffs (also known as FITs) are the electricity part of what some people call Clean Energy Cashback, a scheme that pays people for creating their own "green electricity". The second part of the scheme is the Renewable Heat Incentive, a similar measure for heat. Eco Innovations will help you get both when installing your Solar PV system. You could be eligible for between £800-£1800+ per year.
The Tariffs give three financial benefits:
- A payment for all the electricity you produce, even if you use it yourself
- Additional bonus payments for electricity you export into the grid
- A reduction on your standard electricity bill, from using energy you produce yourself.

How do photovoltaic (PV) cells work?
PV cells make up panels that you can attach to your roof or put on the grounds of your house. Each cell is made from one or two layers of semi conducting material, usually silicon. When light shines on the cell it creates an electric field across the layers. The stronger the sunshine, the more electricity is produced. The strength of a PV cell is measured in kilowatt peak (kWp). That's the amount of energy the cell generates in full sunlight.
The Benefits of Solar PV
- Lowers your energy bills and earns you income (tax-free for domestic properties)
- Generates electricity whenever there is daylight (even if you are away)
- Maintenance free system with no controls
- Long life and durable components
- Quick installation
- Future proofs your electricity price
- Lowers your carbon footprint as there are no emissions
- Adds value to the property
- Positive statement to the community
